Adventure with a misfit
I should have started this blog to document my insane obsession in building and riding drop bar mountain bike. Since I am not a frame builder, I have to alter regular mountain bike. It is not easy as mountain bike are designed for using with flat bars. There had been many incarnations and some worked, and some didn't. Even Charlie Cunningham and Jacquie Phelan were the pioneers of riding drop bar with their mountain bikes, but my obsession started with John Tomac's Yeti. Even Tomac had admitted the bike was scary to ride but his drop bar bike made him an icon. Back then there were not a lot of options and my first build was horrible.
